The Greys
Chapter 1 No.1

Beth and her girlfriend, and roommate Caitlin are in the middle of a journey across Australia, which began in Brisbane, and it will end at Caitlin parents' house in Perth. Caitlin is driving the Ford Mustang since they entered to South Australia territory; she is over thinking on how is going to tell to her parents the truth about the relationship in which she is involved for the past two years. She is terrified because her parents belong to a church that does not accept same-sex couples. Unlike her Girlfriend, Beth is quiet; she is watching the stars through the window of the Mustang. The night sky in the middle of Australia is smog free; the stars can be seen with the naked eye. Beth smiles, and at the same time, she binds with her fingertips the stars on the surface of the window to make new constellations on her own. Beth`s blonde hair is blonder than ever, thanks to the light of the full moon that shines in the sky. "I know what you're doing, Caitlin" Beth Said calmly. "Huh, What?" Caitlin answered. "You chose the road trip, because you want to delay the encounter with your parents… You are scared of them!" "No…huh" Caitlin said. "Yes, you are, I know you more than you know yourself" "I really want to know Australia by road before I'm 21!" "No, you're not. Stop lying to me! I don't like that…" Beth makes a pause, and then she says: "I mean, look at us; two lonely girls in the middle of nowhere just because you're scared of your own parents! Ridiculous! We could have taken a plane in Brisbane!" "Ok, I'm sorry!" Caitlin replied embarrassed. She opens her hazel eyes and looks at Beth like a spoiled kitten. "Don't look at me like that!" Beth said. "Baby, you know them; you know that they will never be ok with us. We need to keep our relationship in secret!" "No!" Beth answered quickly. "They deserve to know all the truth. They are your parents!" "I hate when you act so right!" Beth extends her hand and strokes Caitlin's hair. "Purr for me" Beth said. "No!" Caitlin answered quickly. "Ok, look! If they don't want to be ok with us, so be it. But, they must know the truth…" "But, Why?! Why!?" Caitlin replied. "Cause, I don't want to live on a lie! I don't deserve that… you don't deserve that! I want a serious relationship, a serious commitment" "Are you serious?! You mean, like a marriage?" Caitlin asked nicely. "I want to be with you forever" Beth answered. "Me too" "Stop the car! I want to kiss your right now!" Beth said. Caitlin smiles and says: "On the next gas station, we almost out of gas!" ----- Caitlin stops the car in a small gas station somewhere in the border between South and western territory. While the mustang is reloading with gasoline; the girls make good use of the wait; they began to kiss on hood of the car. Beth's blonde hair mixes with Caitlin's black hair in the same way that their tongues do it inside their mouths. Two employees of the gas station enjoy the scene; they look at the girl with morbid attention. When the tank is full, Beth sits on the driver's seat, because Caitlin needs some time to rest, one employee of the station approximate to the girls to charge them for the gasoline. Beth extends her hand and gives him a 20 dollar bill. "Keep the change, man" Beth said calmly. She stars the car. "Wait!" He said. "What?" Beth replied. "What are you doing in this lonely place at this hour of the night?" He asked. "We're going to Perth" Caitlin Answered. "Shh!!" Beth replied violently to her girlfriend. "What?!" "He doesn't need to know that!!" Beth said to Caitlin. "Oh, ok, ok… No! We're not going to Perth" Caitlin said to the man. The employee smiles to the girls, and ask to them: "Why did you take this road? This is the longest way to go to Perth" "Well, we…" Caitlin said. "Well!" Beth Interrupts to Caitlin. "That does not concern to him!" "Ok, ok" He answered "But, be careful girls, because, in this road strange things could happen" Beth stars the car, and then she begins to nag to her girl: "You can't talk with your parents about us! But, when a strange man asks to you some personal questions you answered carefree! Amazing! " ----- Half an hour has passed; Beth is still nagging Caitlin about what happened on the Gas station. "Could you forget about that?" Caitlin said to Beth. "Jesus! Sometimes you are really annoying" "Ah! So, you think I am annoying?! Huh?! " "YEAH! Sometimes, you are a pain in my ass" "Good to know! Good to know! " Beth said. "I thought; the kiss will calm you for the rest of the trip, but I was wrong!" "So, you kissed me to calm me down?!" Beth asked sarcastically. "Yeah! Yeah! You are driving me crazy! It's been three month with the same old story: you must tell your parents the truth! Cut it off! Jesus!" "I am tired living on a lie" "Oh, my God" Caitlin said. She gets out of her pocket her cellphone, and says to Beth: "I will call my parents right now! To tell them the truth about us! Are you happy? Are you happy?!" "Yes I am happy!" Beth screamed. "I will do it, I mean it!" "Do it, I'm watching you" "Ok…" Caitlin dials her parent's number. Her mother answers the phone. "Hello mother… I have no time… yeah, yeah, I'm fine… you remember Beth… yeah, yeah… well, she's not only my roommate, she is my girlfriend… well… see ya!" Caitlin hangs the phone. "Are you happy now?!" She said to Beth. "I am happy!" Beth answered defiantly. Suddenly, Beth loses the control of the car. "Oh my God" Beth screamed. "What happen?" "I can't control the car; it just turns off by itself!" From nowhere, a little girl appears in the middle of the road. She is wearing a long white dress. "Look out!!" Caitlin screamed, while she points out the girl with her finger. Beth struggles violently with the rudder of the car to avoid hitting the girl. After 10 seconds, the car turns on again by itself. Beth finally can applies the brakes; the car avoids the little girl, and slowly stops on a side of a road. Caitlin gets out of the car and runs to the girl. The little girl is about 10 or 12 years old, she's got long and straight hair and her eyes are blue. "Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Are you ok?! Are you ok?!" Caitlin said to the little girl. The girl is terrified. Beth gets out of the car and runs to the little girl too. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't see you, sweetheart" Beth screamed. "What are you doing by yourself in the middle of a lonely road?!" Caitlin asked to the girl. The little girl, still confused, looks at the eyes of the couple of friends and whispers to them: "They are following me" "Who is following you?" Beth and Caitlin asked at the same time. The girl look at the sky and whispers: "They!" Beth and Caitlin look at each other's with fear on their eyes. "They will hurt me, and they will hurt whoever interposes on their way!" She said. "She's frightening me" Beth whispered to Caitlin. "Let's go to the car" Caitlin said to the girl "You will be safe with us" "We are not safe, they will find me wherever I'll go" The girl answered. ---- Inside the car, Caitlin is sitting with the girl, while Beth is driving. "Who are they, sweetheart?" Caitlin asked. "They're demon… heartless demons" the girl said with tears on her eyes. "Oh, my God…" Beth mumbled. Caitlin strokes the girl hair. "Tell us your name, sweaty" "I'm Lucy" "Where are you from, Lucy?" Caitlin asked. "I'm from a little town near from here, call: Sharp Brakes" "I don't know that town!" Beth said, and types the name on the GPS. "There's no such thing called Sharp brakes! Look!" She shows the GPS to Caitlin. "My town exists! Are you calling me crazy?!" Lucy screamed. "No one here thinks that you are crazy, sweetheart" Caitlin said, and gives to Beth a bad look while she shakes her head. "Two nights ago, they came, but something makes them run away… but tonight…" Lucy mumbled "…They returned to kidnap all the women of the town… I-I-I-I just run… I could escape after they take my mother and sister…" "But, who the hell are they?!!" Beth asked. "The aliens! The Grey aliens!!!" Lucy screamed to Beth. "Oh my God" Beth mumbled. "But, but, but… where is your father?" Caitlin asked. "I'm almost sure that they killed all the men in Sharp Brakes, but I want to believe that some of them could be alive" Lucy said "My town is near from here, in the next exit we need to turn to the right to take an unpaved road to get there… please, take me home! I need to know if my father is still alive!" ---- One hour later, the car is parked on a side of the road, Lucy is inside of it; she is terrified, she cannot remove her eyes from the night sky looking for UFO. Beth and Caitlin are outside of it, staring at the unpaved road. The road goes right in to the dark wild. "We just can't go this way! This is insane! I can't believe that you are actually thinking about it!" Beth said. "You heard the girl… if we want to go to her town; we have to take this road…"

Chapter 2 No.2

"I don't want to go to her town!!! Did you just listen about the story that she just told us!! The aliens, the abductions… the alleged genocide of all men! " Beth screamed. "C'mon! You don't believe in UFO or aliens!" "No, I don't… but, I don't want to confirm that I was wrong! I prefer to live in ignorance, I love my ignorance!" "So, what do you want from me?? We need to do something with that girl!" said Beth. "Yeah! You're right! Let's take her to the police of a town that appears on the freaking map!" Beth said at loud. Lucy heard her. "Shh! She will listen!" "I don't care!" Beth answered. "You're just looking for some reason to delay… you know what!" "I just told to my mother about us!" Caitlin answered. "You need to tell them the truth face to face!" "Jesus! Beth, you are impossible!" Lucy gets out of the car and walks to the girls. "Are you happy?!" Caitlin said. "You can't take me to the police!" The girl claimed. "Why not?" The girls asked at the same time. "Don't you understand? The government works for the aliens… the greys came to my town protected by the police and the military!" "Oh, Lord!" Beth claimed, and adds: "We're screwed!" The three girls enter to the mustang and go into the unpaved road. ---- The 1978 blue Ford Mustang is moving through the darkness of the road. Caitlin is driving again; she barely can see 2 or 3 meters ahead. "This is a bad idea" Beth repeated over and over again to herself. Caitlin looks at her girlfriend and says: "Everything is going to be alright". "I hope so" Beth answered. "Are you lovers?" Lucy asked. Caitlin and Beth look at each other's eyes surprised by the question. "Are you?" "Well, yes, we are…" Beth said. "Have you ever been with a guy? "What do you mean?" Beth asked surprised. "You know… have you ever had sex with a man?" "Why did you ask us something like that?" Beth said blushed. "I don't know… I don't know, it's just a simply question" "No, it's not a simply question! You are too young for those issues" "Yes, Lucy, we are virgin in a conventional way" Caitlin answered. "What!" Beth said. "Don't say that!" "But, it's the true!" "Did you remember what I told you at the Gas station?!" Beth replied to Caitlin. "You always are inopportune! You don't say that kind of information to a little girl like her, that's inappropriate" An awkward silence fills the air of the car, no one talked for about 5 minutes, until Lucy breaks the silence. "As I said before, my nightmare began early this evening. I went to the bed two hours early…" She said "…because I was tired. I guess I only slept like an hour or less… then, I woke up, because I felt a presence, like someone was watching me from the dark. I opened my eyes trying to focus but, I didn't see anything. But suddenly, from the darkest corner of my room emerged one of them, it looked me with her big and soulless black eyes. I tried to scream, I tried to run, but I couldn't. The extraterrestrial walked to me as if it hadn't any legs… I lost control of myself… the grey alien stars to control my will. I got up and left the room. I was the puppet, the grey alien, was the master…" "Then, what?" Caitlin asked. "I went outside. All the people of Sharp Brakes were outside too; my neighbors, my friends, and my family, everyone! Each and every one of us seemed like mindless puppets. The Grey aliens separated the men from the rest of us, and locked them in a building. Then, we heard an explosion. We assumed that they have killed them all. I cried because I lost my father and brother. Then, the teenage girls were abducted by the UFOs. The older women were left behind by the spaceships, like they were bad goods, the government soldiers take them to another building, and then, we heard another explosion. I also cried because lost my Granma. Then, I don't know how, but before I being abducted with the others girls, I set free… and then, I began to run, and run, and run…I tried to don't look back, because I was scared, but before I leaving the town, I turn back and saw how the black choppers landed and cleaned all the evidence… then, I found you guys." "What an awful history! What are we going to do now? Huh? Caitlin?" Beth said ironically. Another awkward silence fills the air inside the blue mustang. Then Lucy breaks the silence again: "Here come the greys!" She said. "What? Where?" Beth asked. Lucy points out the night sky; a bright blue light approaches to the car at high speed. "Drive faster!" Beth screamed to his girlfriend. "I'm going as fast as I can!"

Chapter 3 No.3

The bright light puts right over the car. "It's above us! It's above us! Drive Faster!!" Beth screamed. "Shut up! Shut up!" "Look out!" Lucy said, and at the same time she points with her hand a grey alien that appears on the hood of the car. "What the hell!" Beth and Caitlin said at the same time. "Don't look to her eyes!" Lucy exclaimed. The alien extends her hand and touches the window. "She wants to hypnotize us!" Lucy said. "Stop the car!" Beth screamed. Caitlin stops the car. The alien falls down. "Run over that mother fucker!" Beth said. "Wait!" Caitlin said, and then asks to Lucy: "What do you mean when you say "SHE"?" "They're female!" Lucy answered. "Those greys things are girls?!" Beth asked. The alien stands up. "Look!" Lucy screamed. "Caitlin, run over that bitch!" Beth said. Caitlin accelerates the car, but, when she is about to run over the alien with it, she disappears. The bright light disappears too. "How do you know that they are females?" Caitlin asked. "I don't know… I just know!" Lucy answered. "Perfect! Just perfect!" Beth said. ---- Finally, after ten minutes of driving in the dark, the girls arrive to "Sharp Brakes". The town looks like a far west town; a main street with a few houses around. "This is Shape Brakes?" said Beth when she came out of the car. "Where are the choppers? Where are the soldiers? There's no one here!" Caitlin and Lucy get down of the car too. "Take it easy, Beth" Caitlin said. "If you guys want… you can go, you have done enough, I don't want to cause you any more problems. You bring me to my town, and I am graceful with you girls" Lucy said. "No, we are not going to leave you here alone" Caitlin said "Let's find your family". "Great! You guys do that, and I will wait for you here in the car!" Beth said. "I don't like your bitchiness!" Caitlin said to Beth. "I don't care!" answered Beth Beth enters to the car. Lucy and Caitlin go to the police station. Before entering the building, Caitlin looks at Beth, they make eye contact. Beth breaks the contact after a few seconds; she enters to the mustang. Beth lays her head on the headrest and closes her eyes. She sleeps for about 10 minutes. But suddenly, a female yell wakes her up abruptly. "What?" She said "Caitlin?!" Beth gets down of the car. She looks at the police station. The entire building is shining, like if a huge light bulb was inside of it. "What the hell?" An electric buzz breaks the silence in the town. And then, the building turns off. Beth runs to the police station. "Caitlin!!" ---- There's no one inside the station. "Hello? Caitlin, baby, Where are you?" Beth said. No one answered her question. "Caitlin! Please say something… This isn't funny!" Again, no one answered her question. "What did you do with my girl, Lucy?" Beth asked. "If something happens to Caitlin, it will be your fault!" Beth begins to listens a lot of muttering on a strange language. "Who's there?" She said "I'm not afraid of you!" Beth climbs to a desktop, and screams at loud: "I'm not afraid of you!" By one of the windows of the station, Beth looks how the Blue Ford Mustang begins to levitate. "No way, give me back my car, you bastards!" The electric buzz returns, Beth gets down of the desktop and walks slowly to the window. A lot of greys aliens appear from nowhere as if they had been teleported from the mother ship. "Don't look at their eyes" Beth said to herself. Beth runs to inside of the building, but suddenly she is surrounded by the greys. "What did you do with my girl?! You bastards!" Beth screamed. The greys don't make a sound. "If you hurt her, I will kill you all one by one!" The greys begin to walk toward Beth cornering her against the wall. "I'm…I-I-I-I-I'm not scared of you" Beth stuttered. One alien extends her hand trying to touch Beth's face. "It won't work! You cannot…" Beth said, and then she faints. ---- Beth wakes up; she's inside the mother ship. She's been dragging by the greys aliens through a white shining hallway. "L-l-l-let m-m-me g-g-g-go, you… ass-assholes!" She stammered. One of the greys alien extended her hand to Beth's face; the alien has in her hand a bright instrument that looks like an Egyptian ankh. "Don't put that thing on my face! Let me go! Where's Caitlin?!"
