His Billion Dollar Bride
Chapter 1

When Olivia Miller opened her eyes, she was completely confused; darkness surrounded her with not a single ray of light. She could hear but couldn't make any sound; her body was completely immobile. Was she dreaming? Why did it feel so real? "Distinguished guests, this is the last auction item of the night, a beautiful creature from the Eastern Kingdom," the auctioneer announced loudly, forcibly pulling away the black cloth that covered the cage. In an instant, all the lights on the stage went out, leaving only a large spotlight in the center that directly illuminated the cage. The flickering light triggered the shouts of the men, and the atmosphere in the room reached a peak in an instant. Before the auctioneer could start the bidding, the bell rang continuously from below, and some even shouted loudly, "Five hundred thousand..." "One million..." On the large screen on the left, the bids were constantly updated. The auctioneer's eyes could hardly follow them, and his voice became more breathless as he called, "Five million! Bidder number 15 bids five million..." Olivia Miller was shocked. Has she become an auction item? Because of the lighting, she couldn't see anyone except the auctioneer, who wore a feathered mask. But she could imagine the predatory gazes of many disgusting men. She wanted to curl into a ball but found herself unable to move. A mix of shame and fear overwhelmed her, and eventually, tears streamed down Olivia Miller's face. Who would save her... "Bidder number 3 bids ten million... ten million..." the auctioneer shouted, the unexpected high bid surpassing all assumptions that five million was the limit. As soon as those words left his mouth, the large screen flipped again, and the auctioneer's voice almost cracked, "Fifty million, bidder number 15 bids fifty million..." With that shout, a roar came from the crowd. Five million was already an extremely high price to pay for someone, but fifty million... that was unimaginable. As the auctioneer was about to strike the gavel, the screen flashed with another high bid, his eyes almost bulging as his voice trembled, "One hundred million... Bidder number 3 bids one hundred million..." Suddenly, there was no whisper to be heard; the room fell completely silent. Everyone was shocked; no one had ever seen a woman sold for such a staggering amount. In VIP Box number 15, Davis Dan stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, watching the girl in the cage with a smile on his lips. What a beauty, just watching her made his blood boil. His assistant whispered beside him, "It's been discovered-that's Mr. James Henderson who bid as number 3." "James Henderson ?" Davis Dan looked a little surprised, then quickly smiled and said, "It's natural he would be interested. Let's leave it to him." As he spoke, he inadvertently glanced over at Box number 3 across from them. Sometimes knowing each other for too long made similar tastes a nuisance. As the final gavel fell, the black cloth once again covered the cage, leaving Olivia Miller submerged in darkness. As the cage was loaded onto the cart and she was pushed away, she wondered where she would be taken and what awaited her next. When the black cloth was lifted again, the dazzling light made Olivia Miller feel a little disoriented. In the luxurious reception room, servants, assistants, and guards stood crowded together. The first thing Olivia Miller saw was a man sitting on the sofa, in his twenties, handsome and perfect, exuding an ancient nobility, without a trace of darkness within him. His black eyes seemed to watch her as well, without warmth, without emotion, just observing. Olivia Miller involuntarily shivered. Was this the man who bought her? Those cold eyes seemed devoid of warmth. What would he do to her? "Distinguished guest, here is your item," the auctioneer said respectfully. Inspecting the item was a tradition at "The Night Color" auction; an assistant named William Taylor immediately wrote a check and handed it over. His hand trembled slightly as he signed so many zeros-one hundred million. After receiving the check, the auctioneer confirmed it and smiled, "Moreover, we have some small delights to enhance your experience, which we hope you will enjoy." At a gesture, two servants stepped forward with trays. Olivia Miller's face changed color with just one glance-what were these for? To be used on her? The trays were placed on the table, and the auctioneer, along with the servants, left, followed by everyone else. The vast room immediately became empty, making Olivia Miller feel cold to the bone. Her body instinctively curled up, and then she realized she could move again and speak. Desperately, Olivia Miller said, "Sir, please listen to me-I don't know how I ended up here. The money you paid... I will return it to you. Please, send me home." Her plea sounded naive, but it was all she could think to say. A smile touched the corner of James Henderson 's lips, adding a little warmth to his graceful face. He stood and approached the cage. Olivia Miller couldn't help but stare at him, her heart pounding with anxiety. "I like your voice," James Henderson suddenly commented. "Ah..." Olivia Miller cried out in pain as James Henderson released her from the cage. Unsteady, Olivia Miller could hardly breathe because of the tension around her neck. But James Henderson did not loosen the pink ribbon around Olivia Miller's neck; her body trembled slightly, fear overcoming her shame. Her sorrowful, tear-filled eyes begged for mercy from James Henderson , whose gaze remained cold, without desire. "I didn't come here willingly; I don't know what happened, why I'm here," Olivia Miller stammered, tears quickly following. James Henderson ignored her, his right hand still holding the pink ribbon, not with much force, just bringing them closer. His left hand pointed at Olivia Miller's red lips, satisfied.

Chapter 2

Olivia Miller struggled to get out of bed. The luxurious suite was empty, with a set of clothes lying beside the bed. Without paying attention to anything else, she hurriedly put them on. "These clothes fit perfectly." A sudden comment made Olivia Miller startled. James Henderson had somehow entered without her knowing, his gaze fixed on her. Olivia Miller instinctively turned her face away. James Henderson chuckled softly, his eyes lingering on Olivia Miller's face. Without hesitation, James Henderson walked closer. "I'll pay you back the money," Olivia Miller suddenly shouted out. James Henderson laughed, clearly amused by her reaction. Olivia Miller continued, "I have hands and feet; I can earn money on my own." "Hehe..." James Henderson laughed, pointing at Olivia Miller's small nose and gently pinching it, finding her flushed face even more adorable. "What are you laughing at?!" Olivia Miller felt a mix of embarrassment and anger, and she didn't know where she found the strength, but she pushed James Henderson away, stood up, and declared, "One hundred million... I'll pay it back." "One hundred million GBP," James Henderson corrected her with a smile, sitting up. "Night Color always settles transactions in GBP." Olivia Miller immediately felt dizzy but didn't fall. Whether it was one hundred million GBP or one hundred million US dollars, to her, there was no difference right now. Her body trembled, her hands clenched tightly, yet she spoke firmly, "I'll definitely pay it back." "Alright, how do you plan to pay?" James Henderson didn't argue but simply asked with a smile. Olivia Miller answered immediately, "First, let me go home. I can ask my family for the money. For the remaining amount, I will earn it and pay you back." "Go home? So that's your plan," James Henderson said with a smile, clearly in a good mood. Olivia Miller's expression tightened. She planned to use paying off the debt as an excuse to escape. Still, she bit her teeth and said, "My family is very wealthy. Although we can't raise one hundred million right away, we can pay part of it first..." Would the man in front of her believe such an excuse? Honestly, she didn't believe it herself. "What's your name?" James Henderson suddenly asked. Olivia Miller was a little surprised and unconsciously said, "Claire Miller." "Claire Miller? That's a very nice name." James Henderson laughed louder, then said, "Olivia Miller, it seems you're indeed a liar." Olivia Miller's eyes widened immediately. How quickly had he discovered her real name, and how could she now plan her escape? "However, since you want it so badly, I suppose I can agree," James Henderson suddenly added, his eyes gleaming with amusement as he looked at Olivia Miller. "Eh?" Olivia Miller was stunned. "As long as your debt is unpaid, you must be at my disposal; you must follow every order I give immediately," James Henderson said casually. "You could also try to please me, and if I'm in a good mood, perhaps I'll write you a check you can use to pay off your debt." Olivia Miller was still in confusion; she hadn't expected James Henderson to agree so quickly. "Shall we sign a contract?" James Henderson asked with enthusiasm. Then, without waiting for Olivia Miller's response, he made a phone call and gave some instructions. A man quickly arrived with two copies of the contract. Olivia Miller glanced at the contract, full of terms.  Olivia Miller only read the words "free activity" before saying, "I'll sign it!" With a debt of one hundred million US dollars on her back, paying it off seemed like a problem for the rest of her life. The most important thing right now was to regain her personal freedom. "Don't you want to read it further?" James Henderson asked with a smile, as if giving her a chance. Olivia Miller shook her head; as long as she could leave this place, nothing else mattered.  The man handed her a pen, and she quickly signed her name. James Henderson checked the signature below, which was quite literate. This didn't seem to match Olivia Miller's deceptive nature, but it still entertained him. Her body, her temperament, even the sound of her voice. Attending this auction was really worth it. "So, can I leave right now?" Olivia Miller asked eagerly. James Henderson didn't answer but suddenly stood up and walked to the window, pulling the curtains open. Olivia Miller was stunned to see the vast open sea outside, with no land in sight. Where was this place? "This is international waters. The cruise ship will not dock for another three days," James Henderson spoke. Olivia Miller immediately asked, "Then can I leave in three days?" "Depends on my mood," James Henderson replied. "It seems you haven't been listening to me; my orders come first." Olivia Miller's expression, which had started to relax, immediately froze. The conversation had been too pleasant, making her let her guard down. Even when James Henderson smiled, his eyes remained cold, filled with boundless cruelty. He was capable of anything frightening.

Chapter 3

Three days later, Olivia Miller was able to disembark from the ship. Her clothes, wallet, phone, and bank card-everything was new. The clothes, in particular, fit so perfectly it was almost frightening. "I am Mr. Henderson 's assistant, William Taylor. Quick 2 is my number. If you have any instructions, you can contact me directly," said William Taylor in a soft voice. Olivia Miller shook her head. "I don't have any instructions. Clearly, this has nothing to do with me." William Taylor heard this and smiled indifferently. "I will escort you off the ship." Once she disembarked, Olivia Miller finally saw the entire luxury cruise ship. Her experiences over the past few days had always felt unreal. The only thing that was real was the pain in her body, which caused a sharp pain in her heart that she couldn't attend to at that moment. When they arrived at the intersection to call a taxi, William Taylor drove up in a black Maybach, opened the rear door, and said, "Please, get in." Olivia Miller shook her head firmly. "No need. I can take a taxi home on my own." "This is an order from Mr. Henderson . He asked me to take you to your residence," William Taylor said, then added, "This is Mr. Henderson 's residence here." It was as if a bucket of ice water had been poured over her, and Olivia Miller finally understood what William Taylor meant. She said, disappointed, "I understand." James Henderson had already told her she must always be available for him, expecting her to do things without needing to be told, just implied. Such things could certainly not be done on the streets; they had to be done in a special love nest. This was to familiarize her with the route. The car drove for more than an hour and stopped at the most expensive Kamper Garden community in Natel City. A luxurious villa spanning over a thousand square meters with a fountain and a swimming pool in the yard. "Mr. Henderson rarely stays here. He just asks for regular cleaning by the housekeeper. Now Miss Miller can use this place freely, and you can contact me anytime if you need anything," William Taylor said, handing a set of keys to Olivia Miller. Olivia Miller looked at the keys in her hand, and her only feeling was, "Your boss is really rich." One hundred million US dollars was such a huge amount that she couldn't even conceptualize it. Now, with this luxurious villa for her to use freely, someone like her who had been bought-this was truly shocking. William Taylor smiled lightly and said, "There's a car in the garage, the car keys are inside, and the money on your card is unlimited. Please feel free to use it as you wish." Olivia Miller paused for a moment before saying, "Your boss is very generous." "Money is just a number. If you make the master happy, he will definitely not treat you badly," William Taylor said, as though it were a fact. What mattered was not the money, but that James Henderson was very pleased with Olivia Miller. How the money was spent didn't matter, so why not spend it on something that made him happy? "Heh... treating me well..." Olivia Miller lost her words, suddenly remembering what James Henderson had said: as long as she made him happy and he felt good, he would give her tips that she could use to pay off her debt. She unconsciously shivered. Making him happy was impossible. She had been left helpless, nearly tortured to death by James Henderson . If she tried to please him, she might actually lose her life. After all, she and James Henderson came from two completely different worlds, with no way to connect. "If there are no further questions, I will take my leave," said William Taylor, reminding her at the end, "Please turn on your phone." With that, William Taylor turned and left. "Wait..." Olivia Miller suddenly called out to him and asked, "I didn't voluntarily participate in the Night Color auction. Was I kidnapped and brought there by Night Color?" Over the past few days, she had been thinking about one question: Why was she at the auction? "Night Color never robs civilians; they have their own sources," William Taylor said, as if it were a fact, turning to Olivia Miller. "In other words, someone kidnapped you and sold you to Night Color, and that's how you ended up being auctioned by them." The heavy blow hit her like a ton of bricks, making it hard to breathe. "I'll leave now. Contact me if you need anything," said William Taylor, before driving away. Olivia Miller was left alone; staring at the empty villa, she felt a coldness seep through her entire body. Without going inside, she sat on a garden bench. Now that she finally had some quiet time, she needed to sort out her thoughts. She remembered clearly that yesterday was her 20th birthday-a rare occasion when Mr. Miller called her, saying everything was ready at home and asking her to come home to celebrate. At first, she hesitated, but remembering how rare her father's calls were, she decided to go back. When she arrived, her stepmother, Sophia Miller, and her half-brother, Ross Miller, were both there. Surprisingly, there was no argument. She didn't drink alcohol and went to sleep after eating. Then she woke up at the auction. The answer was on the tip of her tongue, but she still wanted clarification. She got up and hurried outside, only to remember that Kamper Garden was a luxury gated community where it was impossible to get a taxi at the entrance. Though she was reluctant to use James Henderson 's things, she had no other choice at that moment, so she opened the door to the garage. A row of sports cars greeted her, in various colors that left Olivia Miller in awe. Though she had passed her driving test and had some knowledge about cars, she didn't know much. None of the cars in front of her were familiar. In the end, she chose the white one; it seemed less flashy. The Millers also lived in Natel City, just half an hour from Kamper Garden. After parking the car downstairs, Olivia Miller felt a sharp chill as she headed up to the Shen family's residence-not a separate villa, but a high-end community. Since high school, she had never spent a penny of her family's money, though that didn't mean the Millers lacked money. Why had they treated her like this? Using her key, she opened the door, and before she could step inside, she heard the voice of her stepmother, Sophia Miller, full of self-righteousness: "I did everything for this family. The company has so much debt; if we don't sell her, how will we pay it? We've raised her for years, now it's time to make use of her. That's what she's supposed to do." Her father's voice was very low, full of guilt, but not much blame, just saying, "She's my biological daughter... How... How should I face her mother who's already gone with what you've done?" "Oh, I know, you still remember that mistress," Sophia Miller's voice rose as she shouted at Mr. Miller, "If you hadn't refused to divorce that adulteress, why should I have aborted our child? What, do you want to bring her back, or is she going to come looking for you again? I know that mistress is shameless. Just wait, I'll go scratch her face soon." "What... What are you talking about?" Mr. Miller said, frustration and anger mixing in his voice, "We're talking about Claire now, where did you take her?" "I sent the photo, and someone bid a million," Sophia Miller said arrogantly, as though it were the most natural thing in the world. If she had known Olivia Miller could be sold for so much, she would have gotten rid of her much earlier. "With that million, we can pay off the company's debts and even send Ross abroad. Besides, relying on someone like you, my child and I will starve to death." "You can't do that to Claire," Mr. Miller's voice grew louder. Sophia Miller's voice became more shrill, "I've already done it, what are you going to do about it now? If you dare, go report it to the police, let the whole family die together." Olivia Miller, standing outside the door, couldn't stand to listen any longer. She barged in forcefully, and with a loud "clang," Sophia Miller and Mr. Miller, who had been arguing, were forced to turn and look. Their expressions changed drastically when they saw Olivia Miller, especially Sophia Miller, whose eyes almost popped out. "I've already called the police. Human trafficking crimes are enough to put you in prison until you die," Olivia Miller said coldly.
